Ubisoft Stung By The Sequel Bug
Confirmed: New Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, and... Red Steel?
by 00.19

While disclosing the sales numbers for their fiscal third quarter, Ubisoft announced the plans for a slew of follow-ups to arrive before March 2010. Among the games revealed were sequels to Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell (Conviction was already announced, but was now given a more realistic release date of "by next year"), as well as another game in their Wii-shooter series, Red Steel.
There are also plans to develop another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game with help from some of the Super Smash Brothers Brawl team, causing speculation the game will be a fighter. Sadly, not all the news was good. The title I Am Alive's release date has been bumped a full year from the previously announced March 2009, which may bode well for the game since the game was only announced at the past year's E3.
We here at Gamervision have been anticipating the sequel to Assassin's Creed 2 ever since we found the box art (seen above) in Gamestop's garbage can. More installments in the Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell series were pretty obvious, I guess it was just a matter of time until they revealed the dates. The Red Steel game though? That's something I didn't see coming... until I realized that Ubisoft loves publishing crap for the Wii and DS. A Smash Bros. styled TMNT game has the potential to be really sweet, but they don't have to worry about living up to the old TMNT fighting games since those were crap anyway. Anyone else excited/disappointed by the announcements?

With 100% more mustaches.
disappointed a bit with the I Am Alive news but i know the added time will be good for the game
As long as they are still talking about new Tom Clancy franchises, it's all good.
Red Steel... I played for 5 minutes..... then i dashed it into the garbage!
Assassins Creed and Tom Clancy....YESSS!
I'm right there with you on Red Steel. They tried to make a second "hardcore" game other than Zelda when the Wii came out and failed miserably.
Oh. Almost forgot!
Tom Clancy and I Am Alive!
AC2? Meh. I think I'll pass. The story itself with the futuristic crap was just trash. They should've kept it at what EVERYONE thought it was... A great game that ALWAYS takes place in the past, not back and forth like a Tarantino movie.
