Warren Spector Working on Steampunk Willie?
Rumors Swirl About Spector and The Mouse House
by 00.19

Anytime Warren Spector's name gets bandied about, gamers' ears start ringing. As one of the men responsible for classics like Wing Commander, Theif, Deus Ex, and System Shock, nearly everything Warren touches turns to gaming gold. Recently, word began to spread about Mr. Spector working with Disney Animation and Pixar. No one knew what it meant at the time, but today comes news that there may be a game in the works featuring one of the most recognizable mascots codenamed Epic Mickey.
According to Gamasutra, who somehow got a look at some concept art, the suppsed platforming game's look is heavily influenced by the steampunk genre.
Concept art from early versions of the game that we viewed showed mockups of the potential game's environment, including pencil sketches of cities assembled from junk.
If any of this is in fact true, I'm pretty psyched. Platformers have seen a bit of a resurgence recently, and given how talented the people rumored to be involved are, this game seems like it can't miss. Speculation is sure to run wild, but just imagine how sweet a Pixar steampunk movie would be, then put Mickey in it, and make it a game. Does that sound like something you might be interested in?
