Xbox 360 Outsells PS3 3:1 On Black Friday
Raise Your Hand If You're Surprised.

Microsoft is reporting their Black Friday console sales have eclipsed their Sony competition at a 3:1 pace. While I'm not really shocked by the announcement of the company's estimated sales (actual numbers won't be available until NPD releases their November charts), I am surprised that the PS3 sold so poorly. Not so long ago, the PlayStation 3 was much closer to only being outsold 2:1. What has happened in the time since then? Sure, the country is in a bit of a recession, and the PS3 is still the priciest of all the consoles, and their recent exclusives haven't exactly been performing as they'd hoped, but I'm still at a loss as to where the progress went.
Perhaps what Sony needs to do is mount a full assault on Redmond, WA, and give new meaning to corporate takeover. I think by storming the gates, Sony could make a statement, and start a PS3 revolution that would sweep the nation ala the Beatles. Then maybe, just maybe, all those 360 getting Blu Ray drives rumor could finally come true. Or not.

not too surprising with the price point differences and the fact like you said that PS3 exclusives such as LBP, Socom, etc. have not performed or sold up to what i am sure everyone thought.
best shop ever.
well thats not surprising, besides the lack of exclusive titles... people want bargains on black friday... and the 399$ price tag doesnt exactly scream bargain....
it'll be the night before the newest generation of consoles launch, and people will still be insisting the ps3 will come out on top.
dunzo.
You can't chalk this up to price point differences. It's the game library.
However, I do want a PS3 for Christmas.
while the 360 has a larger library (been out longer so i would hope they do) i think you can point to price point. With the big difference in price and people trying to save money, i think a lot of people chose the cheaper of the two and that is the 360. Plus the 360 exclusives here lately have gotten more press and better acclaim than the PS3 side it has seemed.
