Here's the deal: Sega has another Yakuza game coming out in Japan very shortly. They've announced that a demo of Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 will be made available on the PlayStation Network February 19th. The only problem is that demo is only available to PS3 owner's with a Japanese PSN account. Currently there are no plans for this game to make it stateside, so I'll be taking advantage of the "create an account from anywhere as long as you can provide some fake international address information" policy that the PSN has.

I've never been a guy that gets excited about games that only come out in Japan. However, this is the one series that seems to have the power to cause me to start thinking about importing. Having a region-free system sure is nice, but I didn't think I'd ever use it for anything other than import Blu Rays. Now I'm seriously considering ordering my copy of Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 as soon as it drops. Though I will have to wait and see if there will be English subtitles. No sense playing a game with a rich and complex story if I can't follow it. Anyhow, if you're looking forward to this game as much as I am, you can either set up a Japanese PSN account for yourself, or wait to read my impressions later this week to decide if you need to play this game.
