You may have noticed I have a serious Yakuza problem. No, I don't owe money to the Japanese mafia, but I do really love the video game that shares its moniker with the famous criminal empire. It's been a few short days since the game was announced as coming to North America, and now it seems I'll have only a few short months to wait for the game to arrive as Gamestop lists the game as arriving in April 2010.

Even though previous reports have said the game would be hitting American shelves in March, I think April is a much better month. Nobody wants to release their game against Final Fantasy XIII, and dropping a PS3 exclusive that has had its sales potential questioned repeatedly during the same time frame makes little sense. That said, Gamestop release dates posted months in advance aren't really 100% accurate, so it wouldn't surprise me to see this game still ship in March. Either way, I'm extremely excited for this, and you should be too. There's no doubt that the complete and total package Yakuza 3 brings will put it in the front-running for 2010 Game of the Year, I just hope the sales match the potential.
