technically, There is no set way you should haiku.
only traditional haiku is 5.7.5 syllable. we learn this as early as 4th grade in china.
if you are getting into how you MUST write a traditional haiku, then there should be a seasonal word as well because that is how traditional haiku is done.
Many famous japanese and chinese poets write haiku no renga with no true lyrical/syllable boundaries.
