1 vs 100 is soon moving towards becoming more than a casual time waster, as show host Chris Cashman has announced that prizes would be coming to the prime time game next week. Did I just hear the noise of millions of gamers pulling out copies of Trivial Pursuit and flash cards? This just got serious.

It's still going to stay in "beta," he claimed, but explained that the Mob and One would be eligible for some sort of "skill-based" prizes. Whether it's going to be avatar outfits, Microsoft points, or real world swag is unknown. Hopefully they're not going to be cheap about it, and the gifts will be more in line with Braid and less in line with Yaris. I'm not too sure what it means that it's going to remain in beta, or if it ever plans on leaving (ala Home), but this is still cool news for trivia fans. Until now, 1 vs 100 has been small bit of fun, but giving out actual prizes is a whole new game.

Well, as long as the prizes don't suck. It's been hard to justify spending too much time playing until now, but I'll definitely try it out more next week. Anyone feel like partying up for some hardcore Q&A action?
