Aion Vision Trailer Looks Into Future of NCSoft's MMO
A few days ago, NCSoft put a lengthy video on the Aion forums, showing off the hopeful future of their MMORPG. The lengthy clip is called "Aion Vision," and shows off a massive amount of new features for the game, including, but not limited to underwater play, seasons, player cities, massive bosses, a huge graphical overhaul, and changes to many different elements of the game. In all honesty, the trailer is filled with so much goodness that it's worth watching for anyone with even passive interest in the game. Every time you think "Wow! What else could they possible add?" a new segment begins, showing Daevas training mounts and riding giant dinosaurs into combat. Needless to say, it's intense.
When we asked for a comment, NCSoft replied to Gamervision with the following message, getting us even more excited for the future of their game:
The trailer shown at this year’s G-star event is a glimpse at the future of Aion. As you can tell from the movie, the development team is hard at work on evolving and growing the Aion experience in some very unique and innovative ways. Needless to say, we’re very excited about Aion’s future and look forward to providing you with further updates when they’re available.
If half of these updates make their way into Aion it's going to be a very serious contender for top MMO (below WoW, of course, let's be serious). Everything in the video looks very far along, and I wouldn't be shocked to see some of the updates rolling out within the next few months. Let's just hope they don't pack it all into expansions, because no one can really afford to be stingy when Blizzard's RPG is so much more popular. Win people over with kindness, not $30 updates.
And in case you're still on the fence about which MMORPG to jump into this holiday season, be sure to check back within the next few days for my full review of Aion: Tower of Eternity.

Cue MMO fanboy discourse, cause it wouldn't be so boring if it weren't for the grind.

Not gonna like, that game looks super, super boring. It's pretty, and seems like a cool world, but also looks like a snooze fest.

I want this and I want it to run. I read someone on the forums also complained about the PVP optimization issue. Its a problem right now that the engine can't prioritize what to render and in what detail when there are 200 independently moving player characters onscreen. How can they promise all this greatness and draw more people to such shakey servers?
