A new trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum reveals the fan favorite Harley Quinn will be among the villains Bats needs to fight in the prison. She looks to have been the most changed of all the characters shown so far, wearing a much more, shall we say, realistic outfit instead of her super-hot leather outfit. While I'm happy that they are taking this game seriously, the super-hot leather outfit is, for lack of a better word, super-hot.
What is the general consensus on the style in Arkham Asylum? I'm thinking that it's pretty cool, but there are definitely other ways to take it. It's strange that while some things were made much more realistic (see: Harley), others were exaggerated even more. Killer Croc is like, twenty feet tall, and looks a bit out of place amidst the otherwise chilling realism of the game.
I'm sure it will work out, and hopefully spawn future realistic takes on popular comic franchises. A gritty, dark Dare Devil would be fairly interesting (not sure how blindness would work, though) and there's no reason this Batman game couldn't lead to an open-world version of the series. Let's all hope this game succeeds, because I need to ride around Gotham in the Batmobile before the end of the decade.

While this costume plays more on the "she used to be a doctor at arkham" bit... I'll be damned if Bruce Timm's original design for her costume isn't one of the best designs of the last fifteen years. too bad it didn't make it into the game.
This looks even more amazing every time I see anything about it! I can't wait for the release!

I am so conflicted about this game. I have no reason to suspect that a Batman game set in Arkham would be anything short of amazing, but the more footage I see, the less hope I have.

YESSSSSS. Harley Quinn is one of my favorite characters in the DCU. I dig the outfit too. Sure, her old one is very recognizable, but I think this one works in the context of the game.
every time i see something new about this game it makes me want it even more.
Everyone's optimism for this game is breaking my heart. I've seen this marketing before. Very artisitc, very gritty, showing off your cutscenes, (which look pretty, but don't have impressive movement of facial animations) and the total omission of any gameplay. This game will look sweet and sound great, (and Batman will be in it), but unless I see something that shows me otherwise, I suspect it will play abysmally (just like every Batman game you've played before).
I'm sorry, but I just can't ever look forward to a Batman game. No one knows how to make one....
