Bad Company 2 Server Maintenance Complete

New Hardware For Your New Software

by Coop

Despite being one of the best multiplayer shooters in a long time, Bad Company 2's has had problems. It's not the kind of problems Modern Warfare 2 has, like unbalanced weapons or a massive amount of nearly game-breaking bugs that have cropped up since launch, but problems nonetheless. They're server issues, kicking players offline and keeping them that way for no real reason. It's usually only a minor annoyance that crops up for an hour once a day or so, but it's keeping plenty of gamers from the battlefield. According to EA, that's no longer an issue.

Via the Battlefield Bad Company 2 twitter, the following message was posted:

EA Maintenance has now completed. All new hardware is in place and ready to server your BFBC2 needs.

It's a shame that the game's launch was so rocky, but those words seems pretty confident. Hopefully the game had more drawing power than EA thought originally, since the servers seem to be bursting at the seams, which would explain the need for new hardware. Either that, or they simply messed up. I'd rather think the good game is selling good, since that makes me happier than thinking a multi-million dollar franchise had a crappy first week due to a mistake in the development. Yeah, too many people. That sounds better.

See you online.
