Battlefield 1943 Sells Huge
In the Face of Troubles, DICE's Shooter Soars
by Coop

In case you haven't heard, it's a bit difficult getting a game of Battlefield 1943 going. EA is scrambling to attempt to fix the issues and open more servers, but that hasn't stopped people from downloading DICE's newest shooter. On the contrary; the game's scoreboards show over 80,000 people have played the title. For perspective, downloadable sales rarely reach 100k in the first week, with many struggling to break 10k.
All things considered, this is huge news for Battlefield 1943. When the issues are fixed and people are actually able to play the game, I can barely fathom the numbers it's going to hit. 200k? 300k? It isn't out of the question for 1943 to quickly make its way to being to best-selling Xbox Live Arcade title to date, especially with the next few weeks having few high-profile releases.
I've only managed to play a few games in the past few days (after a decent chunk of time was spent trying to join any available ones), what about you? Planning on picking it up, or waiting until it's a bit clearer on the battlefield?
