UPDATED THE SECOND: Screenshots below! It looks exactly the same as BioShock for the Xbox 360!

UPDATED: 2K has announced October 2008 as the release window, we will keep you posted.

2K Games’ confirmation of BioShock for the PlayStation 3 left many unanswered questions for fans anticipating another trip to Rapture, and the UK Magazines that promoted the living hell out of the announcement were little help. A NeoGaf user has apparently stumbled upon a little bit of information in the newest issue of EGM that should do little to quench the thirst for knowledge.

The graphics are likely to remain the same, and if they do receive a visual upgrade it will likely be minimal. With full-scale production of BioShock 2 kicking into full and the game due out in just over a year, I have a feeling buffing the PS3 port’s graphics won’t take priority. Sixaxis tilt control isn’t confirmed as of yet and I can’t really think of a time where it could be tastefully inserted. Then again, Sixaxis controls haven’t been tastefully inserted yet into any game, so my guess is using any plasmid will involve shaking the controller wildly.

Surprisingly, EGM says that the game will likely not be worth rebuying if you have already played it. While 2K has confirmed that they are working with Sony to "extend and augment the game," there doesn’t seem to be a significant enough update to justify a repurchase. It looks like the game will be a straight port for the most part, and anyone hoping for BioShock 1.5 may find it more useful to just wait for Dead Space to hold them over.
