Blizzard Hiring Diablo III Art Director

UPDATE: Apparently They Took Complaints to Heart

UPDATE: It appears as though the old art director left, but the art style is to remain the same. [source]

It is being reported that Blizzard Entertainment has put up a job listing for a new Art Director for Diablo III. Below is the listing, which explains the tools needed for the position:

Art Director
Blizzard Entertainment is currently looking for a talented, motivated, and experienced art director to lead the Diablo III art team. For this position, you must be highly organized with outstanding communication skills and proven experience in management. We're looking for a proven track record of shipping AAA products in an art director role. Experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments and a solid grasp of form, color, and light for both 2D and 3D art assets are also essential. You must be experienced at mentoring a team, able to work well in an environment of artists who are passionate about making great games, skilled in another art task (illustration, modeling, texturing, animation, or concept drawing), and well-versed in related tools (Maya, Photoshop, etc.).

What this means for Brian Morrisroe, the game’s previous Art Director, is unknown. My guess is that he was secretly kidnapped by a group of Diablo II fanboys, furious at the company for adding color to the game’s environments. God forbid!

Just kidding.

But seriously, I wonder what this means for the title's art style? After realizing that listening to the angry mob kept them subscribers in World of Warcraft (Nerf this! Nerf that!), their corporate policy might have changed to appease the naysayers by any means necessary. I hope that this doesn’t mean they have buckled to the demands of a few, noisy idiots with Photoshop, but knowing Blizzard, Diablo might get a little darker in the near future.

I'd apply, but I'm not very good at drawing rainbows.

I don't know what people's problems were with Diablo III's art style. I thought it looked great.

I think it took too much from WoW, too colorful, not dark enough.

I personally don't care as long as the game is good. Though it's so far that I'll probably play other games like this, (Too Human, Sacred 2), and for all we know, once it comes out it could also become the next Hellgate ;)
