In a recent Game Informer interview, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick did what Activision CEO Bobby Kotick does: piss people off. This time, however, it’s hard to find fault in his words. When talking about the Spider-Man franchise, Kotick is quoted as saying, "Our Spider-Man games have sucked for the last five years. They are bad games. They were poorly rated because they were bad games." He then jumped out of his seat and tore off his shirt to reveal that he is, indeed, Spider-Man. Spoiler!

While his words aren’t completely true, since Web of Shadows was only mediocre (which is a step or two up from “suck”) it’s good to see the CEO admitting that his company has made mistakes. Mistakes aplenty. Friend or Foe was damn near unplayable, and Spider-Man 3 managed to step back from its predecessor, which was the best super hero game of all time until Arkham Asylum was released. Hopefully, Kotick saying that the games were bad isn't him just flapping his gums and attempting to earn him some points with the community, which generally considers him to be the worst man this side of Uwe Boll.

What's extra funny about this is the fact that the last few Spider-Man games were developed by Treyarch, the company that continues to disappoint gamers over and over again. You know, the same Treyarch that Activision keeps handing Call of Duty to. You know, the same Call of Duty that is likely the biggest game series around right now. Does this mean Kotick won't hand them the rights to screw up the next one? Ha! I doubt it.
