Borderlands' PC Deal Goes Four Ways

Save Money, Play With Friends

by Coop

While they might have exchanged words last week, Valve and Gearbox are best of friends. Gearbox, for those who don't know, actually worked on several Half-Life expansions, something that Valve takes very, very seriously. To prove their eternal friendship, Borderlands' Steam page has been updated with a sale so good it makes all other sales pale in comparison. Ever.

Currently, pre-purchasing Borderlands nets buyers a $5 discount, marking the game down to $44.99, which is also $15 less than the console versions. If four get together and pick up the game together, however, it only costs $134.97. Before you take out a calculator, I'll do the math for you: it's a savings of $44.99 total, which is just enough money to pick up a copy of the game for the fifth member of your group of friends. You know, the one you didn't want to include on the deal.

This is a great sale for anyone interested in the game, since the multiplayer component has been promoted since the title was unveiled. Hopefully you're able to chose among the four main characters with a few friends and play through the game together, since early buzz has been overwhelmingly optimistic about Gearbox's shooter, and it has a chance to stand out this holiday season. Well, when it comes to looking stylized; as a straight-up shooter it might be out of luck.

Good deal for what should be a good game.

Not sure what platform to get this on. On one hand, all the GV staff will be on consoles, on the other, I have a group of buddies with PC's. Why must I fear making choices?!
