Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx Release Date Revealed

I'm Going to Make His Armory Public

by Coop

The first batch of downloadable content for Borderlands was a treat. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, as it was called, presented fans of the game a bite-sized side-mission that felt better, beginning to end, than any other segment of the story, thus justifying a purchase. The second batch, entitled Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, was anything but a treat. It wasn't very fun, and wasn't at all worth the money. Now, with the third DLC pack, Gearbox looks like it might be returning to Dr. Ned levels of excellence... we hope. Today, some details were announced, as well as a release date of February 23rd for Xbox 360, and February 25th for PC and PS3. In other words, if you're reading this, there's likely some Borderlands DLC to buy.

What has me excited is the fact sheet sent out today. It looks like a return to the story structure from Dr. Ned, though they promise it's twice the size. To further justify the purchase there are going to be new weapons, new vehicles, new enemy types, and an increased level cap. If that's not enough, they've improved the AI, making the new villain types even smarter. Those bullet-points alone have me excited, which is more than anyone can say about the disaster of Mad Moxxi. We'll have more very soon, so expect either some really exciting, or really disappointing news later in the week. There are some more screenshots in the gallery below, including the cutest ninja you ever did see.
