E3 09: Brütal Legend Gameplay Features Jack Black, Plot Details
The Roadie Saves the World
by Coop

To be honest, the gameplay of Brütal Legend? Doesn't look all too special. It might be, there's a good chance it will be, but the footage shown so far hasn't really been too stellar. The story, and the comedy, however, seem to be worth the price of admission alone. A new trailer shows off a scene that explains a bit of Eddie's backstory, explaining how he made it to the awesome, metal world the game takes place in. It involves bleeding into a belt. If that isn't metal, I don't know what is.
The video is below. Are you ready to be humanity's destroyer savior this fall?

HELL YEAH! I am psyched to check this out.
is anyone else attracted to that chick? no? okay then.
Jack Black's humor will only get one so far. Sorry, the plot looks cheesy and trite.
sebastian bach could totally sue.
@Sean
I take it you've never played a Tim Schafer game before? Otherwise you'd know that his games are notorious for their creative stories and witty dialogue. Let's take a look:
* 1987 Maniac Mansion, tools programmer, SCUMM (LucasArts)
* 1990 The Secret of Monkey Island, co-writer (JVC, LucasArts)
* 1991 Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, co-designer (LucasArts)
* 1993 Day of the Tentacle, co-designer, co-producer, co-director, co-writer (LucasArts)
* 1995 Full Throttle, writer, designer, project leader (LucasArts)
* 1998 Grim Fandango, project leader (LucasArts)
* 2005 Psychonauts, creative director, co-writer (Double Fine, Majesco)
See a trend? Each one of those games are iconic in the industry. I'd advise you give the game a fair shot, you might just have fun.
