Braid Rewinds to PC Next Month

Blow's Masterpiece Widens Audience

by Coop

One of the best platformers ever made (yeah, I went there), Braid, is finally getting the PC release promised all those months ago. While it's enjoyed an exclusive run for some time now on the Xbox Live Arcade, Jonathan Blow's masterpiece's legs need to stretch, and it will be made available on Stardock's Impulse service next month for $20 Updated: $15. No Steam release is given, yet, but I can't imagine Valve is going to ignore this one - they have a good radar for this sort of thing.

There don't appear to be any new features and it looks like it's probably the same exact game but we aren't complaining. The system requirements are, expectantly, crazy low, so there's no reason not to force your non-gamer friends to download it on their four year old laptop. As long as they have 512mb of ram they're fine, and can download the damn game so they can spend a few hours talking about what the hell the ending means.

Seriously, PC users without Xbox 360s, this was one of the best games of 2008. Not best downloadable game of the year, GAME of the year.

PC users with Xbox 360s, for shame.....
