I hear a knock on the door, waking me from my slumber. Eying the clock, 2:30am blinks back.

"Ugh, who could it be at this hour," I wonder, collecting my thoughts and taking a sip of warm wine from the glass on the dresser. It tastes like vinegar, I think, and put the glass down on a table as I slowly walking down the stairs. I see a figure through the window, but it's still too dark to make out a face. Still unsure of the presence, I open the door to see my former friend, Castle Crashers.

"Hey... buddy. How you doing? Wow, you look great," she slurs, looking disheveled. She had "left to find herself" nearly five months ago, and I hadn't heard a word since. When we moved in together she promised we would be the best cooperative friends to ever live, but the words lacked meaning, and she ran before I had a chance to say goodbye. She was broken from the start - damaged goods - and didn't seem to want to get better.

"I'm back...can I come in? I think I know what I have to do, now, I'm patched up, I work better, and I want to be back in your life. Remember the multiplayer? It was the best! It's all better now! I..."

"Who is it? Who's at the door?" the voice from behind me asks, cutting off Castle Crashers mid-breath.

"No one, Left4Dead, no one," I say, slowly closing the door.
