Reveal 22 Unlockable Characters
by Coop
Earlier today, the developers of Castle Crashes started to blog. So far they have put up a few posts, showing off the world map and other neat little development information. Their most recent post showed the most interesting bit of news, though, and it is the image below (click for a larger version).
“We currently have about 22 unlockable characters in Castle Crashers. Throughout the game you will have the opportunity to add these characters to your arsenal by various different means (was that vague enough). The chart below will be updated as we get closer to launch with more of these playable characters.”
Ok, I might have edited that image a little bit.
That’s right, 22 unlockable characters in the game. I have been following the title and didn’t even think they planned on having alternate characters, let alone nearly two dozen. This news is both surprising and exciting, getting me even more pumped for the Xbox Live Arcade title that refuses to ever come out.
For those of you who haven’t been following Castle Crashers as closely as the rest of the gaming community I recommend you don’t start. So far, the Xbox Live Arcade title has been delayed several times and learning about it now would be like watching a DVD Box-Set of a show without a series finale. In other words – get out while you still can, the wait will kill you.
If you must pry, Castle Crashers is a 2d adventure game that has up to four players co-operatively pillaging in traditional beat-em-up style. Created by the developers of Alien Hominid, the title looks to sport deep and addictive gameplay with an awesome looking art style. It was announced nearly two years ago, and has been the object of many gamer’s affections since then. As of now, the title is due out in the Summer of 2008. With the developer's current record I would expect to see it this century, hopefully before the great Myslox Wars.
