Let the unnecessary DLC begin! EA has announced a good long list of downloadable content for Dead Space, none of which actually change the gameplay or adds anything important. I’m all for updated content, but this seems a little unnecessary, here’s the long, crazy list:

In case you're counting, it's about $30 worth of DLC for each console. THIRTY DOLLARS WORTH OF TEXTURES. Some of them are cosmetic, giving a slightly different look to the weapons, others are slightly better, giving slightly different weapons. The word of the day is slightly, because there aren’t any substantial differences in the packs, just a new color scheme. I’d rather some new enemies, a New Gamer + Option, or at least some BioShock inspired Challenge rooms to spend $30 dollars on. I mean, come on, “Pedestrian Weapon Skin Pack”? Really? Unless it turns Isaac into a hobo I don't really care.

It will be out on November 13th, so fans of this year’s best Survival Horror Experience should get prepared with plenty of Microsoft Points or PlayStation Monies, it’s time to be scared with slightly different colors!
