DJ Hero and Assassin's Creed II Get Avatar Clothing

There Goes More Money

by Coop

Need more fake clothing for your fake self? Activision and Ubisoft have you covered. Yesterday, clothing for Assassin's Creed II and DJ Hero were added to the Avatar Marketplace, opening up dozens of new items to deck out your online persona. On the Assassin's Creed side there's a good supply of full-blown outfits, allowing people to dress as guards, Ezio, Altair, and... people who want to show themselves as Assassin's Creed fans by wearing hoodies and hats. For DJ Hero, there's a (fake) turntable and a bunch of silly outfits, but nothing really too awesome. Nothing like the god damn flying machine that Ubisoft has allowed Avatars to use. That's right, the power of flight. Eat it.

They all cost money, sadly, and it doesn't look like they are going to be available as Avatar Awards, a feature too few games have taken advantage of. Next week, Left 4 Dead 2 will reward gamers with out-of-game items for their in-game accomplishments, something that should become a trend. It seems like it would be very easy to attach them to achievements, giving both Achievements and Avatars a bigger, better meaning. Hell, Collector's Editions should come with codes to get them, too. The further away from being a real-money marketplace the better, and I'd be very happy to see "Achievement and Avatar Award Unlocked" pop up after knifing the crap out of a sucker in AC2. With my wrist blade. In their neck.

Yeah, I want these, but I'm not spending money on them. Awards would be teh bomb.
