Fans of Don Bluth's classic adventure game rejoice! Dirk the Daring is getting ready to rescue Daphne from the evil dragon, as the first trailer for Dragon's Lair on the Nintendo DSi has been released. For many of you, it's sure to be a mess of nostalgic emotions. Seriously, if you don't have flashbacks to the arcades while watching this, you're... my age. Yeah, sorry. You're really, really old.

All kidding aside, this will make a great purchase for the handheld. The huge difficulty shouldn't be an issue with the DSi, since the downloadable title isn't coming packed with a quarter destroying peripheral. That means everyone will get to enjoy the greatness that is this game, and seeing it through until the extremely sexy ending. The animation, more than anything else, still holds up 100%, and it should be a great purchase on the DSi amidst calculators, clocks, and whatever Gameloft decides to port over from cell phones any given week.

In fact, while the gameplay might be archaic, I'd like to see the rest ported over as well - Don Bluth's games are ripe for revival, and what better place than on the DSi? Dragon's Lair 2, Space Ace, and HOLY CRAP HE'S MAKING A DRAGON'S LAIR MOVIE?! WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS?!
