Dragon Age and Godfather Get Delayed
EA Feels Like Making Us Work Today
by Coop

Now that they've announced sequels for Battlefield and Mass Effect, hinted at Dead Space on the Wii, laid off 11% of its workforce, and delayed The Sims 3, surely EA must be done for the night, right? Wrong! Topping off the night's announcements are two more delays. The Godfather II, which was supposed to be out later in February, has made a slip until Q1 2010 (which is May-June of '09), while Dragon Age: Origins has moved to the second half of 2009. The "recession-proof" game industry is beginning to feel the blows that every other aspect of the economy is, and these definitely leave some marks.
Both delays deal with marketing, and not the games themselves, which I suppose is a good thing. If nothing else, it means the developers will have more time to create polished experiences for the release. Hopefully this is all the bad news we need to report on for tonight, because Gamervision is reaching its capacity of depressing delay news for one evening.
