E3 08: First Screenshots of "New Xbox Experience" Released
Cross Media Bar, Meet Avatars
by Coop

The "New Xbox Experience" is the name Microsoft is giving their new XMB, which is slated to replace the current "Blades" system later this Fall. It looks much different from anything we have seen so far, almost like a digital, three-dimensional slideshow. While it is undoubtedly cleaner than the currently over cluttered system, I can't help but think they are going too far to make it look different it and they might have been able to find a better way to spread their content out than putting it in a faux PowerPoint.
“New Xbox Experience” will also incorporate Avatars into their system and, just as expected, they find themselves exactly halfway in-between Miis and Home. They can be invited into a virtual space to chat, like in Home, but can also be used in certain games, like Miis. It appears they will also work themselves into the new dashboard, and I am interested into seeing how that plays out. The rest of the images are below; what do you think?

I have to say, watching movies in the "Xbox Party" sounds pretty cool. I'm pretty excited for this update!
I love that the first movie in his Netflix Queue is All Dogs Go to Heaven. Adorable!
now im confused, Is net flix added on with no extra charge? and will I have to buy the movies?
Also, this looks sweet.
No, the Netflix works if you're already a member. Great way to get business.
Watching my netflix with people over lLive is awesome...and takes us all one step closer to never having to leave our homes or interact with our friends.

Yeah, the GameCube was originally called the Revolution as well, but it didn't quite work out.
Sorry guys, but this looks like serious shit. It's just a new interface? What's so special? And that Mii/PS-home like system of avatars and virtual rooms is such a rip-off!
This is bittersweet. I'm happy to see the god awful blades go, but the HomeMiis are played out. At the very least, they could have stylized them more.
