E3 08: Lost Planet Movie Announced

Avi Arad and David Hayter Connected

by Coop

At Capcom’s E3 press conference earlier today it was announced that the company will be funding a film adaptation of the videogame Lost Planet. Apparently Avi Arad, producer of most Marvel movies, is attached to produce the film and David Hayter (voice of Solid Snake, writer of X-Men 2) will be writing the script. Not much information was given, but Hayter mentioned that the idea of Ice Pirates in destroyed, snow covered cities gives him a great visualization of the film. They said that if all goes well the film can be out as soon as February of 2011.

A Lost Planet movie has been rumored for some time, and the actual announcement reminds me of how mediocre the game was, and how uninteresting of a plot the game had. We will be sure to update you on anymore information that comes out about the movie, but expect some quiet time as the company prepares to begin shooting in the snow.
