A new trailer for Split/Second debuted last night on Spike TV's GameTrailers special. It still doesn't show exactly how it will play, but it looks like it's going to end up being a lot like a more adult version of Excite Truck, and that's far from being a bad thing. Players are triggering explosions to take down towers, destroy bridges, and bring jets down on top of other racers. If that isn't metal, I don't know what is.

The most interesting part is the announcer, who lets slip a little detail about the online multiplayer... maybe. We might be playing larger online matches than we anticipated, since it's mentioned that "Driver 23" triggers an explosion. The trailer is below, and check back for E3 news next week.
