The Official Nintendo Magazine has confirmed that a sequel to the Wii title Elebits is in the works and slated for a Fall 2008 release. While the first didn’t receive the highest review scores from critics, most enjoyed the title well enough and anticipated a more polished sequel. Earlier in the year, a rumor had described a version of the title heading to the Nintendo DS; so releasing a Wii version as well would make sense.

I actually enjoyed the original. While it did get repetitive, it had all of the charm of titles like Katamari and was just as overly Japanese. For its time it was a nice addition to the light Wii library, and the sequel, with some polish, should pull some holiday weight.
