EXPLOSION TUESDAY: Timeshift Edition

Slow Motion Leg Splosion!

by Coop

The Timeshift demo killed the game for me when it was released. I enjoy it more when fun and kooky abilities in shooting games are supplemental and not a necessity. Needing to alter time isn’t as fun as being able to, like in Crysis and Max Payne. If those games taught the industry anything it is that that optional abilities work better then mandatory ones. I did hear from some reliable sources that the game is pretty and has some explosions, so I decided to check it out.

I was not disappointed.

I love slow motion explosions, and the addition of the leg flying across the screen is a fantastic touch. It bounces and dances in the corner, stepping its final steps.

I had no idea that the game was so violent, maybe it is worth picking up after all. Maybe its developers will realize that slow motion explosions are a necessity and make a sequel based on that! Oh, if only...

The explosions in this game were some of the best that I've ever seen. If you trapped an enemy in a Timeshift bubble you could throw multiple grenades into it to make one huge explosion.
