Fable II Pub Games Gold Transfer Explained
Not So Bad But A Little Schizophrenic
by Coop
The Fable II Pub Games will be made available tomorrow on Xbox Live, giving players a chance to earn items and gold that can be acquired in game by playing different casino-style minigames. But how does this process actually work? The blokes over at Eurogamer were able to get an explanation from Lionhead about how this innovate interesting mechanic will play out in the full game.
Unlocked or earned items will not be available from the time you enter the game, there is a necessary step that needs to take place to earn the money. Upon beginning the pub games you need to pick a character from a bunch of pre-made people (so far Lynch, Daphne, Maya, Mongo and Poe have been announced). These people will represent you in the pub games, but not in Fable II. After beginning the full game you create your character as normal, beginning whatever epic quest Peter Molyneux has conceived for this game, and find any pub in the game. Inside every tavern there is a gaming table, and when you attempt to try your hand in any of the games you are asked if you wish to merge your Fable II personality with your Pub Games gambler. They merge, assumingly leaving your Fable II character exactly as he was, and replacing the pub game character. A fairly simple process, no doubt, but one worth paying attention to if you plan on wasting hours and hours earning virtual money before the game is released this October.

I'm just glad I got the Pub Games for free for reserving Fable II, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
