Fable II to Launch Without Online Co-Op
Second Verse! Same as the First!
by Coop
The only thing about Fable II that kept me optimistic is now out the window, with the Gamerscore Blog announcing that online cooperative play has been cut from the initial launch of the game. They promise that it will eventually be added, maybe soon after launch, and proudly mention local co-op will make it, but this definitely serves as the figurative straw on the overhyped camel’s back for me. Without online co-op on day one I will not be purchasing Fable II, at least for the first few weeks. This serves as the absolute largest slap in the face to fans yet, it's ALL Molyneux talked about and showed at last year's E3. It was the biggest focus, what could possibly hold it back? Forget the broken Pub Games, forget Lionhead’s disappointing track record, forget it all. This is pure, unadulterated, fail.
The absolute largest feature in Fable II has just been cut from its launch, and the fact that they are acting like it isn’t a big deal is nonsense. The biggest draw for me, and I’d say for many people, was the ability to take the game online – a feature absent from the original, as well. Hell, it isn’t a “feature,” it’s the game, in my opinion, it's what set Fable II apart. I was able to look past Peter Molyneux's usual bullshit in favor of at least being able to jump online with a friend and, at worst, lambaste the game’s faults, but now? This is garbage, and there’s no way in hell I’m accepting it. Every day past launch that it is missing is a missed chance of making this game a huge seller, and with the stiff competition it's up against I don't think that Fable II can take this loss easily. LittleBigPlanet launches the same day in North America – I know where my money will be. Good game, Microsoft, good game.

I'm sorry for your strife, but I'd like to mention that as long as the single-player campaign isn't as short as the originals'; this game might still be worth playing through, at least, once.
Wow. This is that same mentality of shipping a game with glitches because you can always release a patch after launch. It's bullshit, and it's unacceptable. This is a major feature of the game. To me, this is releasing a broken, unfinished game. Nonsense.
Oh, what the fuck?! This is bullshit, plain and simple. It is releasing an incomplete game. I was so excited for this fucking game, for YEARS, and while I still believe that the single-player campaign will be great, this is inexcusable. I was one of the biggest fans and defenders of the first game, but there's no excusing this crap anymore. Don't spend months talking up the online co-op, Molyneux, and then not have it ready on launch day! Don't brag that the game is "finished" months before it goes gold and then pull this shit! What have you guys been doing?
I would have rather seen a delay, at this point. So pissed.
This just in... Peter Molyneux fails to deliver on promises made to gamers everywhere. I feel a strange sense of deja vu...
I don't look at things like this as what makes the game. While I was looking forward to actually playing online (for once) it really comes down to everything else in this game that will make or break it for me.
next we will hear about how they have cut 2/3 of the story line. Def. Deja Vu and I agree with all those that have stated that this is unacceptable.
Cant say i care much for Molyneux at all.
but this guy does not care because most of you upset people will still buy the game, so he does not care
he is a faggot(peter) again promises and fails he said if this isnt that good he will stop being a designer for games so go on pete stop being a designer and do us all a favour.
he also stated in an interview 'i always loved rpg's but played them alone'....i want to deliver a new experience' a new experience all right to fucking fail again
Tell 'em WOTC!
@Darth
The things that gets me is that this douche said the game was done a month ago and ready for printing... clearly that was not the case. I'm so over Molyneux. As far as I'm concerned everything he makes is ass.
@Voyou
This broke the camel's back for me. I was on the fence and now Pete will not be getting one red cent from me. Besides, I'll just wait a week and get Fallout.
