Fallout 3 Receives its G.E.C.K.
Get Creating!

Already tired of the Capitol Wasteland? Find yourself bored of killing the same mutants again and again? Need a way to build your own world for Fallout 3? You're in luck. As promised, Bethesda has released The G.E.C.K. (or Garden of Eden Creation Kit) for the PC version of Fallout 3. Windows gamers can now start crafting their own landscapes, buildings, towns, weapons, characters, and more. If the kit that shipped with Oblivion is any indication of the tool's depth, the irradiated sky is the limit, and there should be a wealth of new content in the near future. I can't wait to see what people can come up with.
They've also created the G.E.C.K. Wiki, giving tutorials on the different aspects of the modding kit. I'm sure the hyper-cool crazy modders don't need it, but for anyone looking to get into the field it should give a good amount of information. Here's their quote on the wiki:
The Garden of Eden Creation Kit™ (GECK) wiki is a community-run site where you'll find everything you need to use the The Garden of Eden Creation Kit and make mods for Fallout 3. The GECK wiki is a living online help file for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit that can be edited by anyone.
It can all be found on their website, located here. Part of me is really upset that I didn't get Fallout 3 on the PC. The fact that I'll miss out on user created content (and the inevitable fallout of controversy) is disappointing enough to justify adding it to my holiday list. Anyone else feel the same way?
