First Screen of EA's MMA Game Looks Like UFC
With EA Logos, Obviously
by Coop

EA SPORTS MMA has a Facebook page. It's not because it loves keeping up with girls it went to high school with, but to keep people informed. It isn't updated too often, since EA is keeping details tight, so there's really no reason to check it too much. Today, however, they've given a reason. The image above was posted and is, indeed, in-game. Well, if the blurb underneath is to be believed. "First EA SPORTS MMA screen shot that ran in SI this week....and yes...actual game footage."
If that's true, and we have no reason to believe it isn't... wow.

At first it looks a lot like UFC 2009 Undisputed in terms of the animation. There's one sweaty man wrestling another, so it's pretty much on course for an MMA game. Upon closer inspection, spots of polish are apparent, like Fedor's incredibly well-modeled face. It looks like they took some pointers from the Fight Night Round 4 engine, and that's not a bad thing.
Also posted on the page is that footage is going to be shown in the near future. On November 7th, CBS will be broadcasting Strikeforce, and a "first look" video will be shown. We'll be sure to have it posted as soon as we can, since it's obvious EA's heart is in this, and there's some competition on the relatively new MMA game scene.
On that note, expect Dana White to talk about beating everyone up or something on November 8th.
