Flower Given Release Date and New Footage
All We Are is Dust in the Wind
by Coop
Flower, which looks surprisingly similar to the opening video of Prince of Persia, has been given an official release date of February 12th, 2009. I've still not had a chance to play it, and the above footage doesn't help display the gameplay much, but maybe the PlayStation Blog can explain it better:
"Flower is a tough game to describe. We like to think of it as a video game version of a poem; an exploration into the tension between urban bustle and natural serenity. Players accumulate flower petals as the onscreen world swings between the pastoral and the chaotic."
Or... I suppose not. The game looks gorgeous, and it's created by the team who made fl0w back when the PS3 launched, so at the very least there's little chance of it being anything short of mesmerizing. You can click here for the PlayStation Blog's attempts at explaining the game, but you're probably better suited just waiting. The release is only a few weeks away, so hopefully we're close to understanding exactly what Flower really is.

Finally, another screen saver for me to play!
The sound design, if this is all in-game, is simply beautiful. No pricing information?
def. looks interesting
This game is going to be spectacular. I like this trend of creating games with more laid-back, take-your-time designs. Sometimes I just want to chill and let myself be a little more creative with a game.
This looks good!
This does look interesting. Does anyone know exactly what you do? Do you collect other flower pedals? I haven't really read up on this (I don't have a PS3) so I don't really know that much about it.
