Get Street Fighting Early
Remix Beta Comes With Commando 3

It should not be a surprise to any fan of fighting games that the amazing looking Street Fighter IV isn’t the only amazing looking Street Fighter game to be releasing this year. Also in the works is a full blown remake of what is generally considered the best in the series, Street Fighter II, under the guise of Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (or SF2THDR for short).
In an attempt to boost sales of their other downloadable games that no one seems to be batting an eye over, Capcom has announced that they will be bundling a beta invitation to SF2THDR with Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. As of yet, only the Xbox Live Arcade version will allow for this special opportunity for a few weeks of “free” Street Fighter, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Playstation Network getting some love from Capcom in the near future.
Commando 3 will run gamers 800 Microsoft points (or $876.92), which places it considerably cheaper than Crackdown was when Microsoft decided to do the same thing with Halo 3 beta. The only stipulation is that you need to be an Xbox Live Gold Member, but I really don’t care about that. Anyone still complaining about hard drive or membership requirements should grow up and realize that no one cares that they prefer memory cards.
For fans of the series, spending a few bucks to try out SF2THDR a little early is a small sacrafice. The previous Xbox Live Arcade port of Street Fighter wasn’t received too well due to massive lag problems with the old Xbox Live, so gamers still smitten over that should rest well knowing that Capcom doesn’t plan on making the same mistake twice.
