GTA IV On Blockbuster New Release Wall
Game Sets Precedent for Failing Company
by Coop

This is news that would be interesting if anyone still used Blockbuster: Grand Theft Auto IV will be stocked on the New Release wall of Blockbuster stores. Putting the game on the shelves next to movies is a right of passage of sorts, but means very little coming from Blockbuster. Web rental services have become pretty popular, with Gamefly and Netflix completely dominating the scene. It does mean that popular belief is that games have made it, I guess.
I wouldn’t be surprised to hear some uproar about this. Before, the game section was nestled away in a corner, so that parents could easily guide their children around the walls instead. Now games are on the wall with everything else, and I think it might be a good time for our pal Jack Thompson to find a reason to protest, since he can’t actually do any lawyerly things.
