H.A.W.X. Takeoff Delayed Untill 2009

Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. has been delayed until 2009, according to sources. Ubisoft’s foray into the sky was previously given an ambiguous “2008ish” release window, so the slip isn’t entirely surprising especially considering a somewhat luke-warm response after July’s E3. No reason was given for the bump, but I would think that a huge winter ’08 lineup would be enough to keep this puppy grounded into the new year, leaving the skies free and clear. Gamestop has changed their release to the placeholder date of January 6, 2009 and other online retailers have already made the appropriate shifts in their computer systems as well.
This, mixed with recent Brothers in Arms and Splinter Cell: Conviction delays, makes me wonder if there is some trouble inside of Ubisoft’s office in terms of getting stuff out on time. Hopefully all is well and we will soon find ourselves engaging in High Altitude Warfare…X… in the near future.
