Halo’s Team Hardcore Renamed MLG Playlist
Major League Gaming Makes It’s Name Known
by Coop

For the past few months, Halo 3 has been consistently beaten out of the top slot on Xbox Live by Call of Duty 4. In what some see as an effort to bring some of the wayward sheep back, it was announced today that the Halo 3 game playlist entitled Team Hardcore will be renamed MLG Playlist in the April update to the game. Other than the name change, the MLG Playlist will incorporate a competitive gaming ruleset to prepare gamers for the world of Major League Gaming.
On their website, MLG seems very excited for the upcoming change.
“Ever since the release of Halo 2, it’s been a dream of ours to have MLG settings incorporated into Matchmaking. There just isn’t anyone out there who loves to play Halo as much as the MLG staff and our community, and seeing MLG inside the game has always been one of the things we hoped for most.
So you can understand how excited we are to see that dream come true: In just a few weeks, Bungie will be launching a new MLG Playlist in Halo 3, replacing the existing Team Hardcore Playlist.”
They have left the rest of the announcements to Bungie, who will further detail the change in their “What’s Update” weekly post. In the meantime, gamers can spend the next month playing the last of their Team Hardcore matches before the servers are completely filled with prospective professional athletes telling them about their mothers, and how they are whores.

Eh, I like MLG. Some of their rules might not make sense at first, but they do if you actually think about it.
