Harmonix Confirmed to be Working on Rock Band 3 for 2010
Holidays Just Got Rockin'
by Coop

Just moments ago, Harmonix's Manager of Communications John Drake announced the following on his Twitter:
VIacom CEO and President Philippe Dauman has confirmed that Harmonix is working on Rock Band 3, for release Holiday 2010! WOOO!
That's right, the sequel to Rock Band was announced on Twitter. That's where we are as an industry. To follow it up, he then revealed the only bit of information we currently know: that it's going to be awesome. Seriously, that's what he said. "Also, it's going to be AWESOME. Confirmed." Told you.
So far that's literally all we know. They took a break last year from the numbered series, instead developing the hit Beatles: Rock Band, which means we should expect two years of polish on Rock Band 3. Hopefully this comes in the form of a greatly expanded career mode and some new gameplay mechanics, since there's very little wrong with the core game that needs fixing. I'd also like to see other elements from Beatles, namely the multiple microphone support, make its way to the numbered series. Sure, Courtney Love may be the only vocalist when she belts out "Skinny Little Bitch" with Hole, but that doesn't mean I don't want to duet the shit out of it.
What? I'm just speaking hypothetically, you know how it is.
Expect more news in the coming days as the gaming industry does its best to rock San Francisco off the coast with massive amounts of journalism. We'll keep you posted.

Yep. Getting it. More than got my money's worth out of Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and Beatles: Rock Band. Interesting in seeing what the improvements will be.
can't wait to hear about the new features, and then i can't wait to hear everyone bitch about how dead music games are.
What new features? Seems like this will be the third itteration of the same game. Unless it comes with that fully functioning guitar, music games ARE dead. You're welcome, 00.19.
Can't wait!!!!!
