Well, this is a kick in the knickers. You might recall the announcement of the Heavy Rain special edition, which comes with the first DLC pack, the official soundtrack, a Dynamic XMB theme, and a wicked-awesome water-damaged box. When it was first revealed to be exclusive to a UK retailer, it was assumed that Quantic Dream's strange work of art would also have a similar CE in America. This, apparently, isn't the case, as it was confirmed yesterday with SCEA by VG247. If this is Europe's response to the Revolutionary War... then... well played, sirs. Well played.

“We will not be carrying this in the US,” the representative apparently said, something which we're going to pretend isn't actually a confirmation. We're not second-guessing VG247 or anything like that, but we want to ask for ourselves as well, it will help in the grieving process. Right now, we're chilling at "denial," so you better get out of our way before we move on to the next step, "anger," and the final step, "horniness."

Then again, it sort of makes sense, with Heavy Rain being an uber-European game and all. Even so, I can't help but think that the people in America excited for this game are very excited for this game. Excited enough to spend a few extra dollars for early DLC and a super sweet box, at least. We've contacted Sony America for an official official confirmation, and we'll keep you posted.
