HOLY CRAP: TF2 Anti-Lag Patch Coming
Stop the Freaking Presses!
by Coop
NOTE: You may want to sit down. There have not been many times in the history of gaming that something this important, this groundbreaking, and this life changing. Sit down, relax, and prepare to be amazed.
We got this.
Apparently Team Fortress 2 lags on Xbox Live. This has something to do with the fact that console gamers are years behind PC games in the ways of online servers. Large multiplayer matches cannot be done peer-to-peer, it has to be dedicated servers. If you have no idea what I am talking about ask a friend who plays Counter-Strike, he can walk you through it.
If this has bothered you then don't worry, it is being fixed. Valve has not only jumped on the issue and rode it like a bull, but they have beat the pride straight out of it and fixed the problem and sent the patch off to Microsoft to implement and approve. Give it a few days, play Portal a few dozen more times, it will be fixed before you realize it.
We at Gamervision consider this news and Valve's speedy response the best thing to ever happen and the crowning moment of humanity. It all goes down from here, folks, might as well take that cyanide pill the government gave you just in case of this situation. It's the greatest thing ever, ever.
ALSO IMPORTANT AND GROUNDBREAKING NEWS:
LAUGHING BABY!

"I don't see the big deal... Games get patches like this all the time. Battlefield 2142 got this patch the day after it came out."
Well, if you'd read the article instead of just the headline you would have surely noted that the patch was for the Xbox 360 version, not the PC version.
As far as I know, this is an infrequent if not unprecedented practice for console games, which is what the article was actually about.
I believe Valve sold the orange box rights to microsoft in a way and aren't actually touching the development of it. I could be wrong, but they think the game on consoles is a waste of time apparently.
