Ikaruga Set To Kick Your Face in April 9
One of the Best Shooters Ever Gets the HD Treatment
by Coop

As kinda/sorta confirmed/leaked last month by UK Xbox Magazine, Ikaruga is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade fairly soon. Fans of side-scrolling shooters will be happy to know that as of April 9th they will be able to get their high-def Ikaruga fix. Clicking here will bring you to a website filled with hieroglyphics of undecipherable origin that I am told confirm this fact.
This is just the most recent in a line of games being bumped into the current generation by means of downloadable distribution. Last month the cult hit Rez was reinvigorated by the arcade, and next up is the game most likely to put an Xbox 360 controller shaped hole in your wall. I am not too sure if I will pick this game up. On the one hand, Ikaruga is seen as one of the best top-down shoot-em-ups to ever come out. On the other hand, back when I tried the Gamecube version I felt like I should report to the police how badly it beat me. I was never a fan of the genre, but I might as well start at the top if I want to get into it!

YES. YES YES YES. YES.
I'm surprised whomever play-tested the game didn't have an aneurysm. I played the demo download from the XBL ARCADE and thought it was a fun romp. I've always been a fan of top-down shooters.
