Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Announced

Time for Love, Dr. Jones? Finally?

by Coop

A Wii, PSP, and DS Indiana Jones game was announced today, adding another layer onto the confusing situation that seems to be following around non-Lego Indiana Jones. Going by the name of The Staff of Kings, the above footage shows little of anything, aside from the before mentioned systems. There are cinematics that couldn't possibly be pulled off on the lower-horsepower systems, and a few glimpses of very tomb-y scenes.

Why the next-gen version was cancelled if Lucasarts still planned on making a game is beyond me, but putting it on the Wii and DS seems like a smart move if they want to appease to masses with a Fate of Atlantis styled point-and-click adventure. The news is scarce so far, so be sure to check back for the likely disappointing follow-up news and eventual cancellation.

I've got plenty of love for the franchise. I just hope they don't make it like Harrison Ford's career. As in it's going down the tubes and he should just retire [unless he needs to voice Indiana Jones or Han Solo] and call it a day.

    Spring 09?! I call bullshit.

Assuming this game ever makes it out, I reeeeally hope it doesn't suck. It's obviously not as graphically impressive as we'd like a new Indy game to be, but I won't care if it's good.

As long as there are no nuclear explosions and refrigerators, I guess it can't be that bad...

(God that scene made no effing sense. Neither did the movie, for that matter.)

Best scene ever! I hope that this game has at least twelve of those, as well as one or two monkey swinging scenes.
