Insert in Dragon Age Expansion Teases February 11th
Blood Dragons Ahoy!
by Coop

This week, EA shipped the expansion to Dragon Age: Origins, entitled Awakening, to stores in North America. Inside were inserts with a picture of a dragon made of blood and a date: February 1st, 2011. The blood dragon is the typical Dragon Age mascot, so we know they want us to make the connection, yet the date is a new one entirely. February 1st, 2011... now, what ever could that mean?
We would normally reach out to EA and BioWare, but we don't expect to hear anything besides a nicely worded "no comment." With the success of Dragon Age: Origins in 2009 it wasn't shocking to hear that EA was planning a sequel, and the 2011 date certainly made sense. Then again, February seems pretty early for a full-blown follow-up, and an expansion wouldn't make that much sense either. Either way, the date is odd, since waiting nearly another year from now for a second expansion is too long, and just over a year for a sequel to an 80 hour long RPG seems like it might be too short.
We'll keep you posted, but expect to find out very little more until E3. Then again, BioWare has always loved the Penny-Arcade Expo, and PAX East is coming up next week. Who knows? Ah, screw it, we'll send some e-mails, maybe someone will let something slip.
