iPhone Rock Band Hits App Store
Now I Don't Need to Write a Preview!
by Coop

Last week at an EA event I had a chance play Rock Band for the iPhone. Music games on the touch screen device seemed like a match made in heaven, so I was excited to jump into a band with friends. Joe and I played a few songs together, and I found the overall mechanics fairly enjoyable. Guitar and drums were surprisingly fun, and the track listing was more diverse than I had expected going in. In fact, I was supposed to write a preview today, which would have gone up in a few minutes.
Luckily, EA has decided that I didn't need to bother, and went ahead and released the game. Thanks, guys! Now I can play more Borderlands!
The app is $9.99, which is much more than most people are willing to spend on an iPhone game. It comes with 20 songs (listed below), and doesn't give players the ability to play with their own music. That's a shame, since it would have been something special. As it is, it's going to be hard to recommend it to anyone without playing it more, say, in the form of a review copy. Sent to me from EA. Right now. So I can do that instead of working.
Here's the song list, if that's what you're into.
