Japanese Disaster: Day of Crisis Trailer Looks Alright
Wants to Show that "Humans Aren't Helpless!"
by Coop
A new compilation video showing several Japanese commercials for Disaster: Day of Crisis has popped up on Gametrailers, and to be honest, it looks like it actually might be alright. Actually, it looks like it is either going to be fantastic or unplayably bad, I'm not counting out either. Some moments show off fantastic visuals, some sections look like they might be really fun to play, and others, like an unfortunate encounter with an unfortunate looking bear, look less-than-stellar. The story doesn't seem to help its case much either, following Raymond Bryce as he battles a terrorist organization and, apparently, the Earth itself.
It reminds me a lot of Alone in the Dark, which brought a lot of new ideas to gaming but implemented them so ham handedly that no one cared to play it. This might have similar problems, or maybe found a ways to solve them – who knows. I’ll reserve judgment until it comes out in October.

I remember hearing about this game around launch. I looked and looked for the passed few years, but only 3 or 4 leaked screen shots were ever released. I'm excited, but not too excited.
Okay, so contest for the worst game trailer line spoken....so far the contestants are "Humans aren't helpless" and "Not this day!"
I think this will serve as a reason to play on my Wii for an afternoon. I can't see it drawing me in much more than that. It seems like it's very similar to RE4 but without the zombies...
This game pretty much needs to be a cinematic roller coaster ride, with great pacing. I don't see how else it could keep one interested. We'll just see.
