Jerry Bruckheimer May Change Prince of Persia Period

In 2029 there is Only One Man Who Can Save Persia

The Prince of Persia movie seems to be moving along in the real world. The real world being separate from the fake one that the Halo and Crazy Taxi movies are being made in. Disney is funding it and Jerry Bruckheimer is going to produce it. In an interview with Collider he commented on changing the period in which it takes place.

Q: Do you envision any challenges of trying to film in the mid ages? Is it the mid ages?

Jerry Bruckheimer: I guess it’s the 8th or 9th Century, but that could change to. It might change a little bit, we’re not sure yet. It’ll definitely be a period film; we’re not going to make it contemporary. SOURCE

The only time period he is knocking out is current day. That’s fine, we can still think of plenty of other ones we would love to see the prince in. Maybe back in the 1940’s fighting Nazis? I could see him in the 1800’s protesting in India, or even in the 1100’s during the high point of pirates!

Maybe it will take place in the future, maybe hundred or so years fro now. I know, I know, Fanboys may complain, but lets see the Prince fighting robots! How cool would that be? Come on! Look at the image above, he is meant for this.

It is slated to start filming summer of next year if, you know, there are still writers.

*yawn* Until the the film industry thinks like gamers, the movies will suck. The only movie that came close to awesome was Silent Hill.

Please, all he's saying is that he's no sure where in Arabian/Persian history is will be set. Which is NEVER specifically stated in the games. But he said he wants it to be a period piece, which means defining EXACTLY when it takes place to accurately reproduce that era. Ugh, why does everybody get on Bruckheimer's case. He's on made one really crappy movie, Pearl Harbor. Other than that, he makes some fun movies.

I know he's an awesome producer. I need to see how it comes out before I have my say about it but it would be nice to see an excellent game movie for once.

It was a joke directed at the concept of setting Prince of Persia in different time periods, not poking fun at Bruckheimer.

Another game movie done mostly with computer graphics....give me The Empire Strikes Back or something that's not mainly produced off a green screen, something believable.
