Killzone 2 Preorders Come Complete with Home Outfits

So it's 21/M/Helghan, Now?

by Coop

Sony has announced that Killzone 2 preorders via Amazon.com will come with two outfits in PlayStation Home, unlocking the Hellghast and ISA soldier. I seem to remember an interview where someone at Sony said that Home wasn't meant to be a place for cosplay, but the outfits are cool enough to forget about that entirely.

The fact that this is seen as a benefit for preordering the game means that we'll never see anything worthwhile as a preorder bonus from Sony. Why give away an artbook when you could get a Clank hat with your preorder of the next Ratchet and Clank game? I imagine that receiving in-Home gifts for purchasing a title would be interesting, but actually considering it a "gift" is rather silly. Sony has a long way to go with Home before it can start considering cosmetic changes as something to promote, and in its current beta I can't find myself getting excited about anything like this, no matter how awesome the Hellghast might look.

I don't see this drawing people to Amazon who weren't already planning on buying it there, but it makes me wonder what other stores will offer. I'd be more apt to purchase a Hellghast helmet for $130 than I was the Halo 3 Legendary Edition, but something tells me this isn't in the cards. Killzone 2 is still slated for a February release, so be sure to stay tuned for more information.

I hate extra costumes and all that garbage as pre-order incentives anyway. amazon takes it to a whole new low though by giving people something not even useable in game. weak. sauce.

hmmm i understand Sony wanting to get people into home but this is a pretty weak preorder. Yes it looks cool and all, but when i pre-order KZ2, i want to receive some extra Killzone stuff.
