The mysterious Hideo Kojima teaser site finally has something worth teasing, and has updated with two bits of information. The first, and most obvious, is a countdown clock, which has become an annoying staple of this industry. Strangely, the clock looks like it will actually end fairly soon, ticking down to zero in just under four days.

The second bit of information is a bit more hidden, but it seems to confirm all of our suspicions. A large "5" will flash on occasion when lightning strikes on screen.

It would appear that this would mean that rumors of Metal Gear Solid 5 are true, and with a reveal later this week it would be set up for a perfect unveiling at E3 2009 in June. However, lest not forget that recently Kojima went out of his way to convince us that MGS was coming to the Xbox 360 by using the company's signature green in an image. There's no doubt in my mind that it could be a red herring, and the "5" could end up being an "S" or something.
