Leaked Dante's Inferno DLC Trailer Shows Co-Op and Content Creation

Trials of St. Lucia Coming April 29th

With its release only one week away, Dante's Inferno joins the ranks of the PSPgo and iPad as the latest in the ongoing trend of major announcements being spoiled well before their time. We can thank the internet for that. In this case, it's downloadable content, which wouldn't be too important if the content in question wasn't so substantial and, in a way, unorthodox. Apparently releasing on April 29th, the first pack of DLC for Dante's is to be the Trials of St. Lucia, which will bring both online cooperative play and content creation to Dante's Inferno. So, yeah, it's sort of a big deal. Well, not too big, don't freak out just yet, you might want to hear the details, first. The second player will assume the role of St. Lucia, another character in the Divine Comedy, and can help Dante take on waves of enemies. That's right; waves. It's not a full, LittleBigPlanet level creator, as the pack itself is about fighting waves of enemies, which makes it essentially Horde mode.

It seems that the "trials" in the title is fairly literal.

The customization is, when compared to other content creation, pretty light (from the looks of things), and will allow players to basically pick a setting and choose which enemies come at what time. On the one hand, we haven't been able to play the game yet, so it's unknown if the combat will hold up enough to justify this sort of DLC. Hell, for as wonderful as Bayonetta's combat is, the small arenas are easily the worst part of the title. It's almost like being able to make your own, small, private circle of hell, and in that, it's pretty cool. Sure, a full-blown level creator would be better, but I can understand why it's not being added in such a large capacity. On the bright side, what is included seems fairly well developed, with the ability to rate and download levels making it a step above what some other games offer.

The video above, which is technically unofficial, should give you a better insight into St. Lucia, and show how you'll be spending a few dollars when the DLC releases this April. We'll keep you posted.
